Description
Seahorses range from 1.5 cm to 35 cm. Seahorses swim upright propelling themselves with their dorsal fin using the pectoral fins on either side of their head to steer. With their bent necks and snouts they have a horse-like appearance. Seahorses have thin skin stretched over bony plates which are arranged in rings and protect them from predators.
